A while after Ragna's death, Eivind contacted an old school friend, Signe Taraldlien (1901 - 1997), from Fyresdal in Telemark. She had stayed unmarried, and on December 29th, 1961 they married. She moved to Nordjordet, and they shared a few good years until Eivind fell ill in the mid-60s.
