In the summer of 1943 the family moved back to Nordjordet, since the tenants had now left, but already in 1944 they (evakuate) Oslo and live in Heddal in Telemark until the end of the war.

In May 1945 the war was over, and the family returned to Nordjordet. Five months later their youngest child is born, a son called Gudmund. The occasion for the picture is his third birthday.
